Sheila was having a normal day until cullen through a baseball at her head and knocked her out when she woke up she was in a room. The room was plain whit all over it then it turned into a forest. She stood up and walked around and it seemed like she was really walking through the forest. Eventually she came upon a fairy named sharmarke. The fairy asked her to follow him all the way she was confused because she didnt understand why the fairy was a boy. She asked sharmarke where they were goin and as soon as she said that the forest vanished and they were in a dark misty alley way in 50s new york and even though it wasnt a movie everything was black and white. She walked out of the alley and came upon a small cat named ben. The cat was clearly homeless and was was orange with some brown spots. She picks up the cat and it get sangry and starts yelling at him. She gets startled, the cat can talk she thought to herself because she didnt want  to affend him like she did the fairy. The cat actually had a mission for her. He anted her to sneak over to china and find the data encryption key which was housed in a factory in the slums of the valley passed a small town called gango. The factory was ruled by an evil lord named Jake the lord was terrible to his people and would not pay for there health but made them work in his extremely unsafe shoe factory all day everyday with no vacation. Sheila runs up when she sees him and steps on his holy grails and sent Jake into a panic and sycotic rage and he ended up leading her right to the encryption key. Once there she took one swift blow and took Jake down. After she a rainbow apears and she rides it back and apparently she got stabbed on the street and was out cold in a hospital.

How Music Affects the Brain

Yesterday in class we all chose a song that we thought would release the most dopamine to our brain to see if we could count to ten faster then when we didnt listen to the music. I had 1.42 seconds as my starting time to count to ten and it did seem that if i listened to a song with a good beat or was funny or something it would get my brain going. Cullens song made me count the fastest because i did it in 1.27 seconds with his song. Auroras i did the second fastsest with 1.35 secondsand hers didnt even have a large beat i juts think that hers was funny so my brain released dopamine because i was laughing and i liked how funny  it was. I really saw an affect with the songs beat when i chose a slow song and it largely affected my time by making it more than .20 seconds slower at 1.68 seconds.

Risk Taker

Earlier this week we took a survey type thing on National Geographic about if we are a risk taker or not and i scored as a very high risk taker. It gives you a little quote at the end and mine said
"you are a serious risk taker. You should really take it easy. I bet you're taking this survey while bungee jumping!". It asked us questions on a scale from 1 to 7 on  how much of a chance that you would do what they are asking you. It asked questions like would you drive drunk which i put a 1 for but they asked uys other questions that pertained more to the type of risk i like which was about skiing and other stuff like that which i gave 7s becuase i love to ski and do stuff like that. We were also asked if we felt that we would do a task better or be more incline to do a task if we were motivated by a high reward. I felt that i am definitly motivated by reward not so much by kids because i dont really care about what kids think but i am definitly motivated by money or some type of prize. I also feel that i am just a normal risk taker also becuase i dont really need any people around to go and do soome of the stuff i have done. I have always done sports that have more risk but they also have to do with just you and not really team sports and i like it that way.

We also watched a video about how the brain works and read a packet about how teenage brains work compared to adults. The packet we read talked about how people used to just think that teenagers brains are just not as smart at as adults but really there is a reason for the fact that our brains arent fully developed. It says that part of the things that arent fully developed is there isnt much myelin around the axons so we are much more open and free thinking so it could lead to us being much bigger risk takers . That reason could be why i got such a high score on the risk survey on National Geographic.

Winooski river health .versus. Centennial brook health

1.The pH for centennial brook is 6.5 versus 6.5 at Winooski river

2. We found .136 mg/L of phosphates versus .08 mg/Ln in Winooski river

3.In our study we found a 48.2 degrees Fahrenheit versus 40 degrees Fahrenheit

4.We had 9.5 mg of dissolved oxygen versus their 9 mg/L

5.we had a pollution tolerance of 5 versus their rating of 22

After looking over all the information given to me i have come to the conclusion that the Winooski  river

is less healthy than Centennial brook. This doesn't really surprise me because Centennial brook is much

more secluded than the Winooski. The amount of stuff that goes on at the banks of the Winooski because  it

is situated around  roads and other city structures must add a lot of pollution compared to the

secluded area of the Centennial woods.
